A. Oil-Drilling Grade PAC's Function:
1.PAC-containing mud makes a well wall a thin, hard and low-permeability filter cake to reduce water loss.
2.Adding PAC into slurry will endow the drill with low initial gel strength, making the slurry give off the gas inside and abandoning the waste into the slurry pit.
3.Same as other suspending dispersion, the drill slurry has an existing period which will be stable and extended after adding PAC.
4.Slurry with PAC is seldom affected by the bacterium and requires no high PH value or corrosion resistant.
5.The wall-cleaner treatment chemicals with PAC can resist the contamination of all kinds soluble salts.
6.Slurry with PAC has excellent stability and will still reduce the filtration loss under 150℃ or above.

1.It has high water-loss control ability. Specially PAC is a kind of highly effective filtration reducer, only added at a low dosage, it can control the water-loss to a high level without affecting the other functions of the mud;
2.It has good temperature and salt resistance ability. It can keep better performance of water-loss reducing and rheology behavior under certain salinity. The viscosity is stable when it’s dissolved in salt water and particularly suitable for used in offshore drilling and deep well drilling.
3.It can well control the rheology behavior of the mud and has good thixotropy. It is suitable for any water-based mud.
4.PAC used in cementing fluid can prevent the fluid from entering into the pores and cracks.
5.It can keep good performance in 2% KCL solution which must be added in pressure filtrate. Pressure filtrate prepared using PAC has good dissolution ability and sand-carrying ability. It is easy to formulate and fast to congeal. The pressure filtrate effect is remarkable when it is used in the stratum with hyposmolality.
